I would definitely upgrade to a newer model, more recent year, but still get a demo or 2nd hand car. The minute you drive a brand new car off the show room floor, you are throwing a pile of cash away.

I'd go with 2nd hand or demo, but make sure it had a significant portion of motorplan/etc. still available.

I've never owned a brand new car. Soooooooo, from a financial point of view it makes complete sense to buy second hand, BUT knowing that my well formed "cheeks" are solely responsible for the indentation on the driver seat...i'd go for brand new.
