So im really curious to know what your take on online insurance, banking, credit cards and other financial products are. Do you ever consider doing comparisons or just apply and see what options you get?
Do you spend time compairing the options or take the option with cheaper premium OR best value?.

I tend to stick to my trusted broker. If his rates and recommendations seems logical at a fair price, I don't dig any deeper. I have not yet tried sourcing any services online.

I recently did and have changed the way I use my cheque account, credit card and changed my car insurer. I use my credit card as a current account. And clear it down on payday. It is linked to my medical aid loyatly programme and I get cash back on a whole lot of purchases including 40% on all petrol purchases. My insurance on my car is quite pricey but once I get the cash back on petrol purchases it is cheaper than anyone else can offer. And the other cash back discounts are paying for all my credit card fees and cheque account fees. I am banking for free.

I have an insurance broker who has always found really competitive prices for me. What I like about using a broker is that you always have the same person to speak to instead of being shoved into a call center. I'll happily pay a hundred rand every month extra just to have the personal service.
